Producer of “Doctored” honored as Dynamic Chiropractic’s 2012 Person ofthe Year

Jeff Hayes, the producer of the controversial documentary “Doctored,” has been honored as Dynamic Chiropractic’s 2012 Person of the Year for making massive waves with “the most-talked about health care documentary in the history of the chiropractic profession,” according to Dynamic Chiropractic. After premiering on Sept.21 the documentary filled theaters in Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta and Dallas for three weeks while earning mixed reviews from The New York Times, The Village Voice, and the Los Angeles Times. Nevertheless, the publicity garnered nationwide support way beyond the chiropractic field which resulted in the release of the documentary on DVD at the end of October. By mid-November more than 100,000 DVDs had been shipped which in turn created worldwide interest. “It is amazing to see the support from across the globe; oddly enough, though, it seems the U.S. is behind so many other countries in accepting this message,” Hayes said in an interview with Dynamic Chiropractic. “We’re asking all of the state chiropractic associations to make sure every congressperson in their state gets a copy of the DVD and a personal visit from a local chiropractor asking them to watch the film.” Based on the believe that one person can make a difference, Hayes also wants to inspire each chiropractor to show “Doctored” to patients visiting their practices or even give out copies as patient gifts to keep the positive momentum for the worldwide acceptance of chiropractic going. The “Doctored” DVD is available for purchase from chiropractic state associations and from the official Doctored online store.
“Doctored” the movie | the war on chiropractic

Several within our community have been talking about the Doctored movie so we thought we should share it with the rest of you. This is a compelling movie that dives deep into the war on natural medicine. Although, as a wellness practitioner in the trenches, many of the stories in this movie will most likely mirror those of your patients. The makers of this movie do a fantastic job articulating what we all know to be true. This movie acts as an incredible tool for educating patients and creating an overall awareness. “Is it because the “Medical Monopoly” spends millions a year attacking, ridiculing, and trying to discredit these natural therapies? The answers are almost beyond belief, until Doctored takes us into the courtroom with five chiropractors who, having been labeled “an unscientific cult,’ fought back and won a landmark verdict.” – www.doctoredthemovie.com
Aetna’s anti-chiropractic strategy exposed
Aetna follows one simple logic to deny the claims as not medically necessary regardless of any supporting records the clinic may send. Most of the time Aetna’s insurance rep will not explain why they consider the claim to be not medically necessary. Rule 1 : If no improvement is documented within the initial 2 weeks, additional chiropractic treatment is considered not medically necessary unless the chiropractic treatment is modified. Rule 2 : If no improvement is documented within 30 days despite modification of chiropractic treatment, continued chiropractic treatment is considered not medically necessary. Rule 3 : Chiropractic care in persons, whose condition is neither regressing nor improving, is considered not medically necessary. Why updating initial date of treatment is so very important when the care is closed and new care is started after few months for a new condition ? If the date is not updated, Aetna will assume that treatment is still being given for the illness that occurred several months before. Say for example if the initial treatment date is 1 year old, it proves that patient’s condition is not improving. If provider’s send records proving that the condition is improving, it is in contradiction with what is sent in claims because a treatment that improves patient’s condition does not require one year to cure.
