Jeff Hayes, the producer of the controversial documentary “Doctored,” has been honored as Dynamic Chiropractic’s 2012 Person of the Year for making massive waves with “the most-talked about health care documentary in the history of the chiropractic profession,” according to Dynamic Chiropractic.
After premiering on Sept.21 the documentary filled theaters in Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta and Dallas for three weeks while earning mixed reviews from The New York Times, The Village Voice, and the Los Angeles Times. Nevertheless, the publicity garnered nationwide support way beyond the chiropractic field which resulted in the release of the documentary on DVD at the end of October. By mid-November more than 100,000 DVDs had been shipped which in turn created worldwide interest.
“It is amazing to see the support from across the globe; oddly enough, though, it seems the U.S. is behind so many other countries in accepting this message,” Hayes said in an interview with Dynamic Chiropractic. “We’re asking all of the state chiropractic associations to make sure every congressperson in their state gets a copy of the DVD and a personal visit from a local chiropractor asking them to watch the film.”
Based on the believe that one person can make a difference, Hayes also wants to inspire each chiropractor to show “Doctored” to patients visiting their practices or even give out copies as patient gifts to keep the positive momentum for the worldwide acceptance of chiropractic going.
The “Doctored” DVD is available for purchase from chiropractic state associations and from the official Doctored online store.
